I'm curious to hear from someone who _has_ opted for the fixative. Just wondering how drastic the affect to the image is.
So it goes...

Just read this tweet from Tong
Shoot, I tried to help, but the internet is faster than me. He'll do more, so keep them eyes peeled!
I will be better prepared next time.

Hey hey

In regards to the fixative, the reason I don't use it is to keep the tone of my drawings the way it's meant to be seen. It's hard to explain if you've never seen them in person, but the white chalk/pastel I use for the highlights make it really pop and the properties kinda change depending on what angle you look at it. I try to put as much of a range of tone in my drawings to give it some nice depth. All of that is completely squashed when fixative is sprayed on. I don't know exactly what happens chemically but it just seems to flatten everything. Highlights no longer pop and tonal range almost disappears. Most professional artists that I know who use the same mediums experience the same.

Will not having fixative on the piece make it easier to smudge? Yes, however in order to smudge it, you'd have to physically smudge with intended force. Just brushing up against it won't do a thing, really.

Anyway, it's always totally up to the collector! I'm more than happy to do it for you either way.

And thanks to those that picked these babies up! I ordered some fried chicken AND pizza tonight because of you. Anyway, I got plenty of crazy s.hit coming for MondoCon, so prepare to have your mind blown. Or something. I'm pretty pumped

Hi,
just recently framed this beauty. Wanted to share because Randys Aliens print doesn't get much love.
Really happy how this turned out. Double mat. Gold and a grey metallic.
The colour of the frame is anthracite.

Thanks guys. :pint:

Have an Evil Dead 2 - Ortiz sitting around, planning on framing it, maybe next month. If my bank account lets me.
Will then post a few.

Don't forget his site is in CAD too (or at least it always has been), so something listed at 125 like that official Star Wars piece is like 95-96 USD or one of the pricier 250 CAD pieces is under 200 usd.
