ive always wanted to build an infinity mirror coffee table ..... but never with a print in it.
i agree. Too many people try to play artist when framing art by another person. Let the art stand alone and keep the framing simple. NEVER compete with the art itself.

Or, ya know, realize that people have different tastes. One man's gaudy is another man's toned down. And especially Invader whose art is just boring-ass video game pixelated imagery.

Yeah ... I shouldn’t of criticized it and started that trend. It’s different and definitely a conversation starter!! I didnt even know what an Infiniti mirror was so it really threw me for a loop.
Always good to see people actually frame and hang their art.

I'm also interested to see with the lights off. that's a really cool frame up
Hey! I'm all for discussion on it, or why else would I post it here.
Echoing earlgreytoast, IMO Invader stuff is EXTREMELY simple, which is why I wanted to go a different route with it and get a bit loud. A lot of the Invader installations or shows have played with LED or other things a bit flashy.
So I've thought about it for awhile, and didn't just want to do an LED frame, but punch a bit higher. I had no idea how well it would turn out, as I havent seen anyone try this before and its a bit of a DIY hack. Excited to get some more detailed shots, and play with the lights. Sadly a new series of LEDs from KASA are not out yet, where you can control the colors and have them move around, you know be even louder with it.
There's plenty of these out there floated on white, with black frames. Those are cool as well, just not what I wanted to do with it.

I think it's great you took a chance with the frame up especially because so many are framed the same way. The execution of this is a home run. Whether it suits others taste is quite irrelevant.
I'm not someone else.
Adding a few more. Overall very excited to have this framed like this. Ended up having to go with a two way mirror vs using film so it's a tad darker then I expected. But when this is on it looks great! It's hard to get a front on picture to show exactly how your eyes see it when it's off, the side example is the best.
I'm able to sync up the LEDs to my IR blasters and turn this on if I ask Google to turn on the lights.
Click into the pictures to get higher resolution. The photo system on the new site is a bit odd.

If you have to ask, big man, you can't afford it.
