Early release for long. time supporters. I dig the art, but my initial concern was on longevity (just archival paper out in the open, with no glass / acrylic protection). Silly of me?
no different than chucks wood prints.
I’d say it’s quite a bit different. Those don’t come pre-framed. I also trust his inks to be more durable.
they do come pre-framed without glass, i have two of them. or at least mine did. and yes, i bought both of them directly from spoke.

why would you think james team would use inferior inks? that doesn't make much sense to me. they are truely pushing the printing art to another level. they aren't not gonna be thinking about the fact that there is no glass and the presentation of the piece.

i have to say, james is one of the few artists just knocking it out of that park with pushing his print techniques to the next level... this piece is just amazing.
I don't even really like his art but I check into this thread just to see what the prints look like.

Long time supporters? Luls. I’ve been buying his work for a decade. Guess i haven’t been buying the right fudge.

This may be the start of new higher pricing by James . Much smaller and more expensive than before ... But he calls it a "harmonious object that occupies a space between printmaking, painting, and sculpture." Yes, I agree , It's entirely an art object , like his small sculptures.
I am curious how durable that surface is , can you clean or even dust it? I see the proper display would be a custom made pristine wall mounted plexiglass box ,
fine art museum style. Or a very thick frame with the piece floating inside ?
How costly can prints be ? Well, See the Jeff Koons print in the Broad Museum store now availiable for $30,000 Sure, its signed , but its an UN numbered print :pint:

passage print from 2019 was for $3k for first edition and $5k for variant edition, both of 50, selling for $10k on secondary. his marble slingshots were around $30k. maze statue was i think $10k as were some of the later slingshots.

regarding Santiago piece:

"There shouldn’t be any long term issues. If you need to dust it you can do that lightly of use canned air to spray it off. Like any artwork it should be kept out of direct sunlight. If you are really concerned there is always the option to have it framed in a shadow box or something similar. That way you could add UV glass if you would like to. Let me know if you have any other questions."
