I had the wrong date in my head for the end of the release. Like a wacky sidewayscott variant

I am a big James Jean fan, but still struggle to understand why he tends to hide his subjects in like half of his pieces...
Guess I hadn't really noticed (or thought of this) before. I consider it more of a blending/melding than hiding. With that being said, I find the perspective a bit odd on Forager III. At least that will be my excuse for likely not going for it.
What's up with JJ? Did he hire someone (new) to manage his career? Did he suddenly blow up real big in China or something? Not sure what they're thinking, but he/they had a plan for him and they've been executing it since the Eden release in June. First, price went from $250 to $500 (double up, that's not a small feat) and since the price hike, they've also been pumping out the timed editions at a higher rate. 4 timed editions in the last 7 months (he usually does what, 2-3 of these a year?). That's a lot of prints for anyone who wants one. At one point, and sooner rather than later, lots of people will have lots of excuses not going for the next one.
The price jump to $500 started over a year ago with The Editor in November 2019, and continued shortly after into the timed editions In January 2020 with the night version of The Editor. You can go back and read all of the reactions in this thread, lol. Since then: Kindling III, Forager III, Lady with an Axolotl, Lory, Erhu variant, Eden, Hunting Party II (variant, actually $600). We're already nine deep at this price floor, and it doesn't seem to be slowing things down much at all. This is not mentioning any of his other more expensive projects/releases. At the same time, I think it's caused the flippers to think twice, and eBay seems to be getting less saturated with releases as they come out. Flipping a $500 + tax & shipping print for $600ish minus eBay fees seems to be just enough of a deterrent.

I find it fascinating, and also kind of bewildering that other artists, who I follow, don't try following any part of this business model. Not complaining though!

My guess, 1.5k

I'm in for one. First one I've really liked for a bit now.
Definitely less than a 1,000 copies for this one, is my guess. 940 to be exact ;)

it was determined many moons ago that being able or unable to buy a JJ is dependent on what type of car you're driving. you're just late to the party brotha.

If your rent/mortgage is 3k per month or up, you're automatically included in the Tesla club.

Amazing execution as always.

Is ther anyone else in the print world that even comes close to what's being done with JJ's prints?
I'm not someone else.
