We’re excited to share a new project with StudioCromie in Italy, a project 10 years in the making. Angelo, who heads Studiocromie, first extended an invitation in 2008 to Grottaglie to collaborate with him, visit the Italian country side and enjoy his mother’s renowned cooking.

His 10 years of persistence payed off and in the summer of 2018 we had an amazing visit – finding ourselves well fed, inspired and quite productive. Grottaglie has a rich tradition of ceramic production so we decided to embrace this local craft with the help of Nicola Fasano’s workshop. Exploring a mix of our stencil processes and combining it with a variety of their methodologies, we created a small collection of unique ceramic plates and vases.

Angelo’s StudioCromie has worked with an amazing collection of artists over the years that we’re honored to be a part of. Please visit his site below to see the full body of work which will be available Thursday, March 4th at 10am NYC time.

Was a bit tempted, but happy to see the plates sell out before I could think too long.

Had some general Faile good fortune lately :2thumb: Found a golden ticket in my box of chocolate and landed an apple box from the Faile Tower (2010).

Congrats! I was going ask if anyone picked up those blocks off ebay. I ended up with a few randoms, but heard a lot of negative about the seller buying the lot and making their own originals that Faile was not happy about.

I don't think this was the same seller that I acquired it from. The Tower has been split up from whomever originally had the whole thing and couldn't sell it auction after a few attempts. Long story not so short, someone who had a good chunk of the Tower was assembling pieces/blocks into metal frames (sort of the way Faile sells their puzzle boxes) and was selling them that way. That seemed to piss off Faile, once they caught wind of the fact that A) the Tower was split up and B) someone was taking their art into their own hands. So they basically decided to disown the whole Tower and refuse to authenticate any pieces of it. They went so far as to say that if any pieces do show up at auction, they now consider them counterfeit.

From Faile's studio re: authentication --

Unfortunately, the apple box is part of a difficult situation. Assuming that it is from the Tower, 2010, this constitutes the destruction of the original artwork. This piece was never intended to be broken apart therefore we cannot authenticate it. We have received emails from others about this as well. Whatever is being offered is not considered a piece of Faile artwork. We have even seen fake frames made in what appears to be an effort to scam people. In case you come across any of these, these works will not be authenticated and would be considered as counterfeit goods at auction. We have been working to resolve this issue for a while.

For the record, I bought the apple box knowing there was a slim to none chance that Faile would authenticate it, but I didn't care. Bought this one for keeps

Really like the rollercoaster and the Bitcoin one. Priced well too. Was thinking they would charge around $1500

I love the modern living one but $750 - damn. Plus it’s open edition! Most the art on Nifty is okay but very overpriced. What am I missing?
