Not sure which zoo you're going to, but every time I see them they're sleeping, sprawled out like giant house cats. Last time the man lion was sleeping with lady lions spooning him in front and back. Looked like a pretty damn good life.alison03 wrote:This!!!kingburdy wrote:Looks like a great show, maybe someday I'll see some OG stuff. Definitely a clear theme here, the pieces conjure feelings of frustration when comes to zoo's and circus's. I'm an animal lover and have never enjoyed going to the zoo it's actually very sad to see such complex creatures treated like material things.
I hate seeing them caged up and gawked at. It breaks my heart to see lions and tigers (and others) just pacing around the walls of its enclosure...just doing laps over and over and not allowed to be free.

I sure hope so. I like to think they're happy and don't know better, but it just seems like if all they can do is pace around and around, they're bored...I never saw any kind of toys or things that would at least engage them. I mean tigers are bred to sprint and leap and be agile and there's definitely not enough room in the enclosure for any of that here. I don't usually see them sleeping (bears slept alllllll the time though haha), but I was a nanny for about 4 years and went to the zoo 2-3 times a week (sadly) so maybe just had more opportunity to see them awake? Haven't been back since, but heard that our zoo would be expanding so hopefully that has happened!Codeblue wrote:Not sure which zoo you're going to, but every time I see them they're sleeping, sprawled out like giant house cats.
