Tried a quick fix, different fonts but you get the idea:

So much better. Wish the title was in red too, to differentiate from the other text.

How the hell did that title block make it to final? It's bad, like all time bad.
he was asked to revise it. he didn't want to change it because he liked it the way it is.

It's not like he made the print as a favor, this is a paying gig and the customer should not have to settle for something that is clearly sub-par. The title treatment is awful. Perhaps more of a firm hand was needed in the art direction department?

Think it's pretty obvs at dis point dat Durieux does whatever the fug he wants. He's the pop culture art world's Belgian Eric Cartman.

I like the title block; it’s got a weird and probably accidental 3D-ness going on. Is that a death’s head on the figure outside or just an blurry artifact?

Overall this guy’s stuff is often more striking than “good” to me. He could probably do with some pro art direction - we ain’t got that here.

according to his fans, him and jack don't need art direction.

Expecting an artist to take detailed amateur advice on a project is like buying a cat to go for walks.

Bit of a blanket statement right there. I think you'd be surprised how many in this hobby are also professionals in the creative industry.

Awesome.

I'm still guessing that most people starting commissions for movie posters aren't pros.

His zenith was the first Mondo show. Steadily downhill since then, with an occasional 'yeah guess I'll pick that one up' piece now and then.

Apocalypse Now and The Shining were great from his second show, but not much else in my opinion. It's a tricky act to follow when you've created such game changing posters in the past (i.e. Jaws). I wish he would just take a bit more time in between them but I guess man gotta eat.
