Phlegm is super nice and approachable, probably less hype train and people just happy to support a great artist for what they do, whether buying from him or owning one of his pieces through a second hander.

I like the fact his etchings are 100% produced by the artist in an old school analog fashion.

His unusual characters appeal to me as much as his architecture and I feel they are lacking on the new piece.

I still think Civilization remains his best print release, composition wise.

I agree, but I wish he had of used Fabriano ivory paper like other prints from that era.

He does all of his printing by hand. I highly doubt he would do an open edition. It just doesn’t seem like his style. Too much respect for the craft
Since when does doing an open edition change whether or not an artist has respect for the craft? What a jabronie.
Sorry, not a great choice of words there. Too much commitment to the whole process to do an open edition.

feel like the book he did a few years back was a good example of mass producing something anyone could get.

I'm curious to see what he is going to do with the cigarette card series.

Thought that sounded on one of his Insta posts like those would be 'mass produced'

I wasn't a fan of the paper color and thought it washed out an otherwise great image. Ended up selling it (way too soon of course).

That is exactly his style, isn’t it. Nice call Paul

From IG comments: "these cigarette prints aren't going to be for sale for a while yet. It's quite a large series. Possibly between 30 to 70 images. Plan on releasing the original prints as well as some sort of book or card series that's a bit less limited." He also mentioned they'd be screenprinted due to larger volume.
