I'm a UK collector who grew up with the books and movies, it does disconnect a little with the title change but not enough for me to make a difference, love the image.
Was interested why the title was changed and didn't realise the book title was changed as well as the film:
"Scholastic's Arthur Levine thought that "philosopher" sounded too archaic for readers and after some discussion (including the proposed title "Harry Potter and the School of Magic"), the American edition was published in September 1998 under the title Rowling suggested, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."
In the movie did they do different takes for the scenes where they actually mention 'the philosopher's stone'?
Was the main reason I passed.
Along with the missing owl and very long left leg…….just kidding

congrats to all that picked one up
the leg is just up because hes moving forward lol
some of you guys make the weirdest comments lol on fb we were told that we are dipping into the harry potter well too much. Have had the license for almost 3 years and have done 6-7 posters.
either way thanks to everyone that did pick one up. Should go quick tomorrow.

I saw this post lol the people in this hobby can be insufferable at times. Lots of dogging on this poster but I think it's very nicely executed. Laurent is a master and so unique in a world where there is a lot of derivative art. I seem to remember Jaws was hated on at initial release and now it's worth $5k. (Not saying this will reach those heights).
i actually thought it had a really nice response in the groups. Especially his group. By the comments, it looked like many got to pick it up and that was all via BB and not a FB sale.PrintsandPugs wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 7:36 pmI saw this post lol the people in this hobby can be insufferable at times. With the exception of a couple things (Philosophers title and placing the owl inside the wall), its the exact concept sketch everyone has been asking for. Goonies will be the same as well.
With how it did today alone in BB, Laurent definitely wants to finish the series. Crossing fingers that all goes well.
In regards to the comments, once in a while I respond but I'm over it. Its the same thing for years. I think people are way too hard on ppl with licenses. We have to hit a certain amount of sales to make it all work. Its the nature of that game and the more popular the title, the higher the costs. It's just weird how ppl can't grasp part of that business. We have to keep doors open and support so many different ppl.
If the license connects, which many ppl can see it does, it just helps us keep going and allows us to continue supporting everyone around us. I don't really know what else to say.

I am excited to see LD's take on all the Harry Potter movies. This one doesn't quite do it for me, but still a nice design none the less.
