Funny how Doyle is the first person to bring up reprinting. Either way there sure seem to be plenty of unnumbered copies that aren't part of the edition and they have a way of popping up in mystery tube sales.
Yer surprised dat a company dat was making bootleg movie posters had unnumbered copies? I remember back in the day Hess complaining about printers who were selling overruns of his fudge out the back door obvi unnumbered as well.
Definitely not surprised but I would say it lacks integrity. And the Moss Star Wars were not bootlegs.

Here's the thing, tho- there weren't un-numbered copies during my tenure there (as far as I can remember). There were AP copies, and the artists got all their AP copies, and everyone was paid.
Also- none of those prints during my time there were really 'limited'- most of them were open edition for a couple days, then we closed the sale, added a number on top (depending on how many AP's and comps were required) and then we placed the print order with D and L. No customers were squeezed out on the initial sale in most cases. (Like, that Stout Thing print- the edition was low, but that's all that people bought! Crazy to think of that now.)

Now- those Moss Star Wars un-numbered prints came well after I left, so I cant' speak to what they did after my time there. I only ever bought one set off a dude, and the story he told me (which I believe) would seem to indicate that there weren't more than a couple unnumbered sets out there.

pretty well until you broke the silence

almost a full year of not hearing about you
we made it almost a year, and then
tim wrote: hey everyone, check out my dead horse over here, do you think it smells
then 8 pages of beating the decomposing horse, when we could have just made it two years of silence instead

Got it. So the issue is me responding to questions and comments people are making on my thread, not the people making those comments.
That's some...mighty fine reasoning you got there.

You realize you can just like...put me on your 'ignore' list and not come on this thread, right?
It's simple. I'm going to put you on my ignore list now, and I don't have to see it anymore.
It's great!

Gotta be honest, homeboy can sell his own fudge any way he likes and if you don't like it that's on you. But I draw the line at mom jokes......for that transgression I will never forgive you.

Tell more stories about day one mondo. I'm getting old and my memories are fading. I want to remember the glory days as I slip into the darkness.

Test prints are actually quite popular with people who appreciate the silkscreen process.
We do printing for Coop in our shop, and he gets test prints with every job he sends our way- and he can turn around and sell 'em for a couple hundred each on his site.
We host a Test Print Tuesday on our site fairly regularly that does well for us, and the artists we feature.

Just because you don't like them- doesn't mean other people don't.
