Thanks dasher, it's actually a stacked moulding (metallic dark tan inside of flat black) and finished it with Acrylite.

My Pixies framed by Peacedog (of course!).

Me being a newb, but I'll post my Taylor Thor

I am working on a rock looking base similar to the movie that the hammer will be wedged into. I added a piece of metal into the top of the hammer and will be puting a large magnet in the base, just to give it a neat feel when it is pulled out. (took pic with my cell so it's a little bleh)

That sounds like a damn cool idea.

If it turns out anything like I hope it will, then I think so!

The hammer is actually one of the disguise inc. plastic hammers that they sold around halloween. I re-did the top 'crest' on it to make it a bit larger, and then I filled it with some expanding foam to make it heavier. I took off the cheapo plastic handle that was on it and bolted on a PVC pipe and then wrapped that handle in actual leather and added the silver accents. A pretty easy and cheap conversion, I figure that way with people handling it I don't have too much invested in it. ha
