Framed Keyes
Had this frame lying around the house and decided to put it to better use. They don't call them shadow boxes for nothing.
The frame had the top matte but it was square. Cut it out slightly to match the same 4/5 ration of the print and then hinged it to mat board.
Tough to photograph, but you get the idea.

Thanks dmtr. I was a little uncertain how matting right up to the sides and bottom of the image would look and at first was considering a more simple frame job like some of the mostly white ones posted here... But in the end I think the orange looks really unique and the frame ended up bringing out the texture of the bear. So I'm very pleased.dmtr wrote:^ I like that a lot! Nice choice in frame and mats!
finished framing "Thunder" over the weekend. 1 1/2 inch deep shadow box. top 2 mats are separated by 1/4 inch spacer then there is another 1/2 inch spacer between bottom mat and the backing board. Print is mounted w/ paper hinges and finished off w/ museum glass. took about 3 hours to finish but very happy with the way it turned out.

18$ archival frame with white acid free mat from Dick Blick Art Supply. I added a black acid free mat underneath for accent. I am extremely happy with the result, especialy since I didn't spend that much money.
