Yeah, I'm no fan of ornate gold frames anyway, unless you're a Renaissance master or something. Think of how smooth that job would have looked with a low, wide dove-grey mat, with maybe just a little bit of woodgrain showing through...but that's just me. Congrats, hatred, I think the RSR is the most underrated Horkey print ever.greenhorn1 wrote:I don't know about the frame on that boris (personally just not a fan of gold and I think a darker color would go with the black paper better).

Yea, I think I would get bored real fast with something like that, although the gray matte could work......mistersmith wrote:Yeah, I'm no fan of ornate gold frames anyway, unless you're a Renaissance master or something. Maybe its just my opinion, but I feel the more ornate style frames compliment Horkey's style much better.

And the above comment is not to say I don't think that a more basic frame can't work for any piece. Smith's framed Black Grist set could not look more spot on in my opinion. It really was the perfect frame choice for those...

Well, that and the fact that the art is up on a wall being enjoyed instead of hiding away in a flat file somewhere.hatredofhuds wrote:I'm the opposite. I loooooooove gold frames!!greenhorn1 wrote:I don't know about the frame on that boris (personally just not a fan of gold and I think a darker color would go with the black paper better) but the matting makes it look amazing. And I do most of my horkeys without mattes.

I meant "low wide dove-grey frame," not mat.
Hahaha, I know I'm not the only one really digging that Grist set framing...

Looks great. I'm glad you don't suffer from "over-do it disease."Stroma wrote:Went for something a little different...
