I paid more for mine, but it was in better condition...
I'd maybe offer to take 2 of them for $300 and if he declines just pass. People on here have found some for like $50-75, so if you're really patient you'll find some super inexpensive ones.

I paid @$225 for two 5 drawer sections plus base. Needed some handles and one roller missing. But hey for storage it's perfect.

about how long do you have to wait between coats of paint before you can sand and apply the next coat? thanks

Ignore the Google, read the can. It will also tell you if you need to sand or not.

5 drawer cabinet for 600 bucks...

They look very nice but price-wise seem a bit high.

I picked up the 46" flat file version of the OP today from craigslist for $100. Took two months of waiting but it eventually popped up for the right price. Thanks for the post OP, I'll be doing a similar project in the spring.
