In your flat files, do any of you have little metal flaps in the front of the drawers that is used to keep the prints pressed down? Just curious what your thoughts are? I can see how they would be useful but they also seem to be getting in the way a little bit with potential to damage a print. Thoughts? Thanks.

I’ve damaged a print from them.
Took them all out.

same. I removed them from all but 1 drawer. they're super helpful if the drawers are maybe less than half full.. after that run the risk of a poster corner getting caught

Interesting, I've never even considered removing them, though I've never thought they were in the way either.

Zero room for those things in our hobby. Yanked every one I’ve ever come across.

Never had a problem before I took them out, but I did take them out.

I like them in my drawers. I have a wide piece of mat board that I put over the prints and then have the metal flap laying on top which keeps any corners from curling up when I'm trying to open the drawers. I haven't had any issues using them this way.

I like them personally. I thought I would remove them, but mine work really well.

Got a new flat file this year - never installed those things. Really seems like something I’d have an accident with at some point.

had a big metal file with them awhile ago with a foamcore board on top of all the prints. thought it was a great feature.
