Hi,

I'm trying to remove the base of a large safco flat file filled with prints all in mylar sleeves and I don't want to disrupt or take out any prints . Any suggestions? Anyone else ever had to do this? I'm putting another flat file on top of it and i have this table that goes over it and it only fits over it with the base off.

Can you remove the drawers?

This. Remove the drawers and set them in a different room. This will remove a ton of weight and allow for the shell to be lifted so the base can be removed.

Thanks. Thought of that just get nervous about removing the drawers. They are completely filled with maybe a 100 24X36 all in mylar sleeves also I can't get those huge drawers in another room because of the door way so I'd n eed to stack them on top of each other not sure how sturdy that would be.

Jeez man, only 100 prints? It would take you maybe 15 minutes to carefully pull them out, stack them and then do the move. Then rearrange back in the drawers the way you want them. Especially if they are all already in mylar sleeves? Easy peasy.

The flat file total has about 1000 prints in it. Giving an example about removing the drawers. No big deal. I'll figure it out.
