Glassine To Distance The Print From The Foamcore Sandwich?

I am In the process of flattening a single print.
Do I need two layers of glassine to distance the print from the foamcore I will be using to make a Sandwich?
How exactly does glassine protect the print?
I am under the impression that glassine would prevent any transferring of the ink if I would place another print on top of it. Is this true? if there's more to what glassine can offer, please educate me. I recently started collecting prints this year.

If the environment which it is in is fine just use some movies or books on the corners out in the open. If the print is very valuable and thats why you are going for the extra care then sure your method would be fine.

If your foam core is not acid free and you are concerned with the long term preservation of the artwork, I would use some kind of acid free buffer in between it and the print. Glassine can also help to prevent scuffing of the inks.

And FYI, glassine does not always prevent the transfer of ink. I have had super thick-inked Masthays lose some ink against glassine. It's more about how much weight you put down on it. Less is always better, try to let time do it's job more than extra weight.

To be fair, that sticky icky that Masthay uses will come off on almost anything.
