Please keep us updated if anyone finds out any different. I've been itching to buy a picturesque portfolio, but don't want to risk the edges of my prints (like everyone else)
Great Crash!
The more that call, the more likely they will actually make it happen. Even if it takes a while, it's worth the effort in the end. If we had all gotten in touch with them as soon as it was clear there was an issue, very likely it would have been fixed by now. Or at least it couldn't hurt. Please take the few minutes to email/call either company to voice your opinion and request them to fix this.

It only comes with 5 inserts (I am pretty sure it has black dividing paper in them as well) that you could put in 10 24x36 prints. If you need space for more, you will need to buy more inserts, and it will hold up to 40 pages (for 80 24x26) total.labanog wrote:HI guys, wanted to ask the expert, looking to get an 24x36 acid free portfolio and from reading this threas seems jerrys artrama have a good deal! just wondering does it come with the films already? does it come with the black paper? is it acid free? Reading this ... a quick note of caution ... 80 prints in a 24 x 36 portfolio can get really heavy.
I try and limit mine to 25-30.

I have one of these, some sheets work fine, others not so much. I use the others for smaller than 24 x 36 prints. If they were only 25 x 37, it would be perfect. A little room for cushion would be great. But when I move in August, I plan on trying to locate a flat file so this is not an issue anymore.

I don't have space for a flat file and store most of my prints in a 30" x 40" museum case that slides under my bed. Got tired of not being able to look at my prints more often (because I have to dig through a bunch of prints every time), so I recently got a Picturesque 24" x 36" portfolio.
Pros:
1) It's great to be able to look through your prints more often.
2) Sturdy build with a carrying handle, strap, zip mechanism, and ring binders. Has an elastic band inside that will hold your prints in place.
3) Comes with 5 sleeves (2 prints per sleeve side), so you're ready to start storing right away.
4) You can buy sleeves separately to expand your storage.
Cons:
1) Depending on the cut of your 24" x 36", some prints will be fully enclosed in the sleeve, while others may stick out a tad. This may or may not be an issue, depending on your OCD level. If you're used to your 36.5" bags and sleeves, you won't find that here, as they seem to be pretty much at the 36" mark (maybe a few mm longer in some cases). A little shuffling may be required to make the prints "settle" at the bottom and get a better fit.
2) The refillable sleeves can be a little pricey - usually $50 for 5 sleeves (again, can hold 2 prints per sleeve, for a total of 10 prints), but you can hold out for periodic sales if you want.
3) Not a con of the product, per se, but it takes a little practice to slide the prints in safely. Once you figure out the method that works best for you, it is not difficult. Just have to be slow and careful.
This portfolio is meant to be shared, looked through, and carried, so some degree of wear is to be expected with prolonged use (however minimal that may be), so I would not recommend this for folks that value keeping their prints as pristine as possible over enjoying their prints through repeated viewing.
Even with some prints maybe sticking out a tad, they are not at risk of sliding out, and there is ample room between the top of the sleeve and the zipper line.
For me, personally, the pros outweigh the cons, so I am happy with my purchase, and am looking forward to expanding storage.

Hey everyone,
I recently bought some Mylar sleeves and rigid backing boards to store some prints as I buy more.
Im in search of something to place the sleeved backing boards into. Any nice receptacles out there that could work for me?

The paper dividers are acid free. I got mine from Jerry's Artarama. The 24" x 36" portfolio is currently $199, but you can sign up to their mailing list - they send coupons and have sales often.

thank you for the info bulkhead i will check it out. i got the portfolio already but the dividers were missing in a few of them. anyone got some extras?
This is probably a silly question, but would it be alright to store the Picturesque Presentation Cases (24x36) vertically? Like up against a wall, as oppose to flat on the ground. I am looking for a better means to store my prints, but can't afford the space (or money) to get a flat file. And hopefully there is another sale coming up, it is memorial weekend....
