Should be cheaper to have it from a friend from the US. i have heard a lot of people say that...wonder if it is any cheaper to have it shipped to a friend in the states and then have them ship it to you...sometimes (not always) that helps

Assuming you don't have a huge number of prints to take back, wouldn't it be easier to just use a PVC tube or two? If you don't use huge pieces of PVC, you can probably even carry them on the plane, so they won't even be out of your sight. I'd be very nervous about checking any sort of portfolio. The picturesque 24 x 36 is definitely not enough protection to entrust to baggage handlers ...aivc wrote:My request might be special, but here goes :

I'm going to college in the US, but my home is in Belgium where I have my collection, where I actually hang and frame stuff. So I buy prints during school year, than when it's time to go back, I need something to transport all my prints back.
What do you guys think it the safest and the cheapest way to go about this ? Thanks

PVC I find around here comes with 4" diameter so to be safe you could spread out 15 prints in three tubes, that's pushing it though.aivc wrote:That what my first idea as well, PVC Tube. Yeah, that's what I though. Depending on the size of your suit-case, you might be able to fit them inside and check - especially a large duffle bag or something. I have a 24''x36'' portfolio. There's a little bit of wiggle room in the sleeve, but it is not a lot. I found as long as the print is flat enough, and you are patient while putting it in the sleeve then you should be ok.
