So i found this nice calculator to get everything at eye level.
http://www.xanadugallery.com/Height-Calculator/
Which is fine, but would you rather have all the top frame heights at the same height, or all the pieces at eye level?
The formula to have the middle of the piece at eye level is 60 (usually this is ideal) + 1/2 of the height of the frame - the top of the frame to the wire stretched to the max.
With that said, if i have multiple pieces on the same wall, it's kind of weird to not have the tops all aligned, right?

Not really.soam24 wrote:With that said, if i have multiple pieces on the same wall, it's kind of weird to not have the tops all aligned, right?
But it's all personal preference.

I try to line the middle of the frames up with my eye level (slightly higher than 60"). Aligning the tops of different sized frames would look weird imosoam24 wrote: With that said, if i have multiple pieces on the same wall, it's kind of weird to not have the tops all aligned, right?

I think it depends on the artwork. For my Horkey wall, where everything is 36" to 40" tall, I align the tops. If I'm hanging pieces of totally different scale next to each other, I usually align the top third of the piece at eye level (I'm tall).

i don't have enough wall space or i have too many things framed to worry about this. for me, its Tetris every time I get something new framed.

Me too. 90% of what I have on the wall would be stuffing my flat file even fuller if I maintained that hanging standard.ErocAfellar wrote:i don't have enough wall space or i have too many things framed to worry about this. for me, its Tetris every time I get something new framed.
I need more. Nothing seems to satisfy. I don't want it. I just need it. To feel, to breathe, to know I'm alive. - MJK
