Nobody really ran hard against Obama. Edit: except Clinton (duh)

Beat him in the primary popular vote too.

Jesus, she really aged a LOT between 2008 and 2016 (if that's a 2008 pic of her.)

And I didn't realize the pop vote was that much to her in that primary. I do hate the superdelegate bullshit, but still glad we got Obama in that primary.

If you had her job, let alone went through all that Benghazi bullshit, you’d probably age too.

Oh I know, just stark contrast. I'm in my mid-40s, I get it . . . just sort of amazing in a less then 10 year span.

Also, Sanders gets crushed in any national election.
Disagree. Leading up to the 2016 election, matchup polls always had a wider margin between Bernie and Trump, than Hillary had against Trump. EVEN FOX NEWS had Bernie beating Trump, while they were the only poll that had Trump beating Hillary.

Anyways, with 2020 approaching there are currently better options than him. Not necessarily because of his message, but because people simply think he's getting too old. Something I would agree with on most of our politicians age 70 up, but not Bernie, dude is still sharp and can answer questions well... unlike Biden and definitely unlike Trump.

Also think Bernie could have taken MI and WI which would have been the difference.

Polls also showed Clinton winning in a landslide. At last count this did not happen.

ps winning the popular vote over 50 separate and different (caucuses etc.) primary elections over a couple of months time isn't quite the same as taking it in a single vsame-day election. But yeah, the lefties were more than happy to have the Super-D's roll in their favor in '08.

Gloves don’t come off in primaries. The Republican attack ads alone against Sanders would have have waltzed Trump into the White House.

I honestly believe that Bernie is the single worst candidate we could put up against Don the Con.
Dump will absolutely slay him in a general.
My opinion.

Ten Reasons Bernie Sanders Would not and Could not have beaten Trump

Bernie Sanders would have beaten Donald Trump? Not so fast
Sanders gained more votes than Hillary Clinton in key general election states. But voting behavior in the primaries is very different to voting on the big day

Honest question, how do you think they are going to demonize him? His weird, creepy, yet funny 80s public tv shows? Dude has been preaching the same stuff his whole life. What are they going to attack other than his age and his being a socialist? He's not much older than Trump so I don't think going that route would be effective, and as far as making socialism the bogeyman, even the recent Fox News interview with him got applause from the audience when he was touting socialist ideas like health care for all. When people actually hear what his ideas are.... they end up liking them, a lot.

Favorite comment so far on the Huckabee-Sanders news: "obviously she wants to spend more time at home lying to her children."
