Yeah, kinda tough confirming any kind of sources when you're dealing with a black out media nation like NK. As well, pretty much any & every story that comes out of or about NK is & always has been taken with a grain of salt seeing as NK controls all information & media. Or lack thereof. Kinda like that iron curtain you love so much. Remember the disinformation when Chernobyl occurred? Kinda tough to confirm when the entire government is behind the lie.

But then, hey, it gets you conspiratorial nuts all rock hard so I guess their plan is working.

Dero, is there a graphic about how many new articles there are per year and what constitutes an article?

Serious question, I'd like to know if the total number of articles trends as everything else does.

And X, no comment on my Venezuela post?

Exactly, same time social media proliferated.

Speaks to the laziness of a majority of the press. Ridiculous these days and in the recent past how many "new stories" are just reactions to social media posts.
My favorite part of television broadcasts is after the story when I get to find out what @tiffany99_(.)(.)_partyGurl thinks of the situation, or whoever they want to shape the narrative of the story.

I was curious if that included blog posts and opinion pieces as well. Likely just includes content printed/posted/broadcast although it can be tough to find a discernible difference.

I think they were graphs that just made you happy and you didn't really look beyond that

Sad to see media coverage shifting away from reporting actual news to ‘delivering content’ and how respected media outlets try to fight declining circulation numbers by publishing more socially divisive content, definitely doesn't make me happy.

Unfortunately the masses also want to be told what to think or how to react in their daily news reports, not just mention the 'facts'.

Coming to their own conclusion takes too much effort and requires real thought processes. The anchor better tell them whether they need to be outraged or not.

Broadcast news in particular is mostly in it to make money. For local news it that means if it bleeds it leads. For cable news with their 24 hour cycle it is personality based garbage. I haven't completely lost faith in the print news.
