One final prize addition
Vania Zouravliov The Hidden Fortress. Donated by RPuzio77
I gotta say... HUGE THANKS TO ALL THE DONORS
With zero effort on my part, we have a very nice slate of prizes. (That definitely wasn't expected with the thread going up so late.) Each year when the Oscars are approaching or when I post the thread, folks reach out with generous contributions and I think that's super cool. The prizes aren't really necessary but they definitely add to the fun!
Thanks to all the folks like binky79, cerebus, and RPuzio77 who've donated something over the years

YES! So glad I randomly logged in today to see if this is happening. Favorite EB time of the year, thanks for hosting again Atom!
This year is all about EEAAO in this house - it has officially become my wife’s fav movie of all time.
Real time gif of me trying to decide all the other categories - I have done like NO prep/research yet cause I didn’t think this was happening.
Winning last year was a total fluke and I do not expect to be much competition this year, but let the fun begin!

I spent very little time on my picks this year. Kind of just flew through them. We'll see how that works out!
Good luck

I did my picks at like 5 AM after a super late show night so we’ll see how that works out lol. As always, the shorts were a bunch of guesses, but had a hard time with best actor and supporting actress. I just really want Brendan Fraser to win, but man Colin Farrell was so good - like - that early scene where he’s told face-to-face that dude doesn’t want to be his friend - there’s this like 10 second reaction shot that is a masterclass, made my jaw literally drop. I don’t really care too much about acting in biopics even though the academy loves that stuff, so Elvis has a great shot at it too.
And Atom - I’m stoked to finally check out Puss in Boots now that it’s on Peacock - it’s on deck for this week sometime!

There are some tough categories this year where it feels like it could legitimately go either way. Should make things interesting...ArchibaldTuttle wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 3:42 pmI did my picks at like 5 AM after a super late show night so we’ll see how that works out lol. You're in for a treat with Puss in Boots! It's a lot of fun, it's got a lot of heart, and it's surprisingly well-made.
