Howdy, folks! The 92nd Annual Academy Awards are this Sunday, February 9th.

This is the 9th year of Rotten Oscars, EBs annual celebration of cinema, created with the intention of making the Academy Awards more fun. Lets keep things positive and honor the best movies and performances of the year (even if the Academy doesn't). This is the place to share your Top 10 lists or to heap praise on those little-known gems you love. What movies did you discover in 2019 that you'll keep going back to? What movies are underrated? Overrated? Etc. etc. :pint:

We're using the same site and the same rules as last year.

Rules

-You get one guess in each of the 24 categories. Each category is worth 1 point and the person with the most points at the end of the show wins.

-You must have 100 posts or at least 1 year on ebeans as of February 9th, 2020.

-You must make your picks on runyourpool.com (use the link below) and your username must match your EB username.

-To qualify, you must post one of the following three things in this thread before the start of the show:

1) A picture or gif from an Oscar-winning movie or a previous Academy Awards show, or
2) A list of your Top 10 Films of 2019, or
3) A picture or gif from a movie or performance that got snubbed (name the category)

Instructions

1. Go to https://www.runyourpool.com/join/pool_i ... &p=fidelio

2. In the Join Password box, enter ''fidelio'' (without the quotation marks)

3. Fill out the form information, including a personal username and password. (Rest assured, this information will NOT be sold or utilized for spam email under ANY circumstances.)

4. Make your picks for each category, with the ability to change them up until the awards show.

5. Post your picture, gif, or list in this thread before the start of the awards show.

Prizes

The person with the highest score gets first pick of the prizes. If 2 or 3 people tie for high score, each will get a prize and I will assign and draw numbers for order of pick. If more than 3 people tie for top score, I will assign numbers and draw to see who gets prizes and in which order. After the person(s) with high scores get prizes, anybody with a score higher than mine will be assigned numbers and entered into a drawing for the remaining prizes.

Prize 1- Donated by binky79 (Rotten Oscars Deputy). Jason Edmiston Pan's Labyrinth.
Pencil sketch from the first EWAF show. Approx. 6.5" x 14"

Diamantino has a small rip on the top edge. Thankfully, Monrovia, Indiana does not. I know you've all been itching for a Monrovia, Indiana poster

Huge thanks to everybody that donated and everybody who participates and makes this a fun thread year after year

Picks and pics (or gifs/lists) are due by the start of the show on Sunday, February 9th.

Let the movie celebration commence! Good luck! :pint:

WHOA - did not expect this to pop up this year.

Besides the already mentioned Uncut Gems snub as a whole, I'll also throw in that Greta Gerwig got snubbed for a Best Director nod.

^ Another snub. Definitely for costume design and possibly for actor (Murphy) and supporting actor (Snipes). They got my noms for the Houston Film Critics Society's awards.

Snub of the year: Extra Ordinary
Not only did it not get nominated...its still hasn't got released yet.
Saw it at SXSW last year and probably my favorite movie I saw all year.

Snub of movies that were eligible: Her Smell. How that didn't get a Best Original Song nomination blows my mind.

Woo Hoo!!

Biggest snub of all time from the 67th Academy Awards. Buncha nominations as zero wins. Forrest Hump won a handful.
