Great flick!ArchibaldTuttle wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 11:53 amFor my participation pic - I still think Dolemite Is My Name was a huge snub, especially Wesley Snipes.
Too bad Coming 2 America wasn't as good. (It was sooo bad!)

Just saw a commercial for the Oscars or I would've completely forgotten this year. I've made my picks. Lots of guessing this time as I was too busy watching this year's biggest snub on repeat (pic related) instead of the movies that were nominated.

For real. Was doing some research a few days ago and it seemed like there are way fewer clear winners than usual.
Will make for a fun show tho. Picked up some nice steaks, have some good bevs planned, gonna do it up.

It's a greater challenge this year settling on my picks. The gulf between what I think should win and what I think will win is far wider than in other years. Suffice it to say, I hear you RA, about the overt politicization. Hoping to have a film year as strong as 2019 again sometime soon.
I did like Mank and Minari very much. And I thought Riz Ahmed was really great in Sound Of Metal.
My participation pic, almost left that part out:

Almost forgot my participation pic of my snub...
Totally agree with you. At times I felt I watched a completely different film than some of the voters. In many cases, who should win versus who I think will win are miles apart.middayshadows wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 12:13 amIt's a greater challenge this year settling on my picks. ^Returning champ in the house!
Onesheet, what was your score last year? I got 21/24 and it wasn't tops. I think you and duckyhoward (possibly others?) scored higher.
