thinking about it but ~$350 on records in one plunge is :hanging:
Thankfully I have the Parlophone originals ...even a mono gold label Please , Please Me , so I won't need to bother with this one , although I did stump up for the mono CD boxset just because I could.

For many many years I collected Beatles LP's ' 45's and general ephemera from all over the world , acetates (group and solo) ,bootlegs , Butcher sleeves , Iranian , Chile , S. Africa , Rhodesia ..you name it ....Apple stuff too.

In the end the sheer endlessness of it all finally got to me. Collecting most bands output there comes a point when you need to bite the bullet and spend that £1000-£2000 to get the major piece your missing ....but with collecting the Beatles you could keep on spending £1000 endlessly and your still only taking baby steps along the collecting path of their worldwide output.

Sub Pop is getting stupid with their prices. Did away with the Loser Editions, and switched to special editions for an arm and a leg. Luckily the jawn bought the FJM for me.

I think I have like 5 albums on pre-order right now, but I just received shipping notification on the new Dan Deacon album. I can't wait for it to arrive. If anyone's curious you can see it here: http://www.dominorecordco.com/uk/albums ... ss-riffer/

I'm kind of new to the vinyl world. Been collecting for the past year or so, but didn't have a legit set-up until now. What are you guys listening on? I just got a turntable from U-Turn Audio this past week. It's pretty glorious.

I have one of the "upgraded" U-Turn Orbits. Grado Black, acrylic platter, and one of the cheap DJPREs. Running it through Audioengine A5+ speakers. Pretty basic setup but sounds great for our space and gets my vinyl playing.

I pre-ordered Bjork's Vulnicura on LP.

Great album, I have the mp3, but think the vinyl will accentuate the strings.

I like his music and love his concerts. They're streaming Gliss Riffer this week here: http://www.npr.org/2015/02/15/385245921 ... iss-riffer

I got a DJPRE too. Seemed like the cheapest way to good. I went with much cheaper speakers though. They're not amazing, but they get the job done. I really want to get an acrylic platter at some point. Do you notice it makes a difference in the sound/static? Or was it purely aesthetic for you? I have a black platter, but I bought a white slipmat for the sole purpose of making colored vinyl look better.

Let me ask you, did you ground your turntable? I'm having trouble figuring out how to do that in the spot I picked out for it in the house.

I'm going to hold out for the record. Thanks for the heads-up though. If anyone else hasn't heard of Dan Deacon you should definitely check him out!

Any fans of Public Service Broadcasting? I have their album on preorder as well. Double, clear vinyl. Looks pretty rad. Check out their video for Gagarin here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wY-kAnvOY80

Huge fan of most of what Temporary Residence puts out, preordered the new Inventions (Eluvium + Mark T Smith of Explosions in the Sky) album plus remix EP, no longer available but can still get the standard version:

Yesterday was a big mail day! Three records delivering on one day. I know I mentioned a couple of these already in this thread, but I'm pretty excited that this finally arrived.

This is the LP for Book Club, a local folk/rock outfit. Pretty good stuff. I've seen this style of vinyl before, but this is the first in my collection.

This is the new Public Service Broadcasting album. It is pretty glorious. Definitely recommend it.

And my final piece of amazing mail is the new Dan Deacon. It also came with an inflatable green hand like on the cover. This dude is so weird and I love it.
