No, CM Punk was starting from scratch. There is a pretty good 4 part reality show that the UFC released the last month called "The Evolution of Punk" where a camera crew followed him over the last 2 years of his training. It's very entertaining. He literally learned MMA from the ground up and is fighting a legit prospect in his first fight, on PPV. Dude has some balls.

I know Gall is mainly a grappler, but it woulda been nice to see him trade a bit before the takedown. I know dude trained with Roufus or whatever, but it woulda been more satisfying to see him get "knocked dead". #freedelta

Yeah, the fact that he went out there and actually stepped in the ring I have to give him a ton of credit. But he never had a chance... also, Gall's entrance song was so perfect.

I'll credit him for trying, but it's a real show of disrespect to those that have been training in some discipline or another all their lives... or at least for more than a year and a half.

That's, of course, if he legitimately thought he was gonna win, which I don't think he did.

Not as good night for CM Punk. It was pretty funny that his former employers took a subtle jab at him too. But much props for getting in there and he still goes home to AJ Lee, so there's that.
