I too had Bisping winning the first two. I dont think anyone needs to see Silva run right through Bisping right now. Sonnen is just the better fight. Fixing....is it that hard to believe?

I am surpised at all the middleweight fights for the fox show. I wonder why they didnt mix up the classes for primetime?

No that hard to believe, more hard to believe no one else is talking about it in the mma media...they all seem to just fall in line...nothing to see move along.

There is no fixing whatsoever! Sonnen was not gifted that fight. Check fight metric, he won the first round closely and dominated the third. Bisping mounted no offense, he was able to neutralize Chael, which I think surprised him. Also, every media outlet is talking about the Fox fights in great detail. Not a lot is very kind. I also believe that Chael is still taking Testosterone, I don't know that for a fact but read somewhere that as long as he puts it on his prefight medical paperwork he is good.

The UFC had just as much to gain with Bisping winning with a UK show as it did with Sonnen in Brazil. I do agree that Sonnen looked like 75% there against Bisping and will have to be 100% to fight Silva again!

Sonnen didn't look like himself in those first two rounds, but I don't know if I would chalk that up to Bisping being better than I thought or Chael coming in poor shape. I too had Chael losing the first round because of Bisping's effective striking. Sonnen did nothing with his two takedowns, but I suppose they still score either way. Bisping was able to come out of that fight with some new found respect even though he lost. If only he could mature and stop acting like a jackass. I was rather surprised to see that Fight Metric had awarded the first round to Chael so I guess I'll have to give it another viewing.

Sonnen/Silva II should be a huge money maker for the UFC and that's exactly what they need. Losing Lesnar to retirement and GSP to injury has really hurt them financially and the UFC will be looking to rebound big with this fight. Hopefully neither man comes down with an injury.

Condit vs. Diaz is going to be an all out war. If this fight goes all five rounds I'll be absolutely shocked, but seeing as how both men can take as much punishment as they can dish out it is a possibility. Either way it should be one hell of a main event.

Along with Chael, Dan Henderson and a list of other UFC fighters also take/prescribed Testosterone. You have to test within range when you go through your pre-fight medical screening. If your blood work comes back over the legal limit then you have problems. Henderson get his blood tested quite frequently and pays for it out of his own pocket to make sure he stays within the legal range. The UFC has an on call doctor that can be reached at all times so if you ever have a question about what you should and shouldn't put in your body before a fight you call him. That's why the whole "I didn't know what I was putting in my body" line is such bullshit, see King Mo

Nyquil will make you test positive for a controlled substance, so when a fighter gets sick before a fight more then likely they are going into the fight with nothing to fight the cold in their body.

Chael got crushed with a hard right hand that threw him off for most of the first round, with that being said I had him winning a close fight. No way a 30-27 win which one judge scored it.

edit: Here is the story about Dan Henderson

Rumor had it for a while that Dan Henderson was one of the fighters with an approved testosterone replacement therapy exemption, but until now there was no concrete evidence that he was in the same company as Chael Sonnen, Todd Duffee, Nate Marquardt and Dennis Hallman (who we know about). It’s not that he was hiding it, it’s just that no one asked.

In an interview Hendo did with ESPN this week, the Strikeforce light heavyweight champion ,who revealed that he has been using TRT since 2007, spoke openly and candidly about the reason he required the therapeutic exemption and the effect it has on his health. Among other things, Henderson called for stricter year-round testing for anyone who requires hormone replacement to ensure that he or she isn’t upping their dosages to give them an edge in the off-season.

“My levels were so low they were off the charts. I was always tired and getting sick a lot. I couldn’t even tell you [how to abuse it],” he explained to Brett Okamoto. “I’ve never gone above normal ranges. All I know is that I’m not as tired and I don’t get as sick as I used to.”

According to Hendo, if patients are receiving proper treatment from a reputable physician their levels should never jump above the normal acceptable range. In order to make sure he never test hight, he says that he constantly monitors his own levels on his own dime, which is commendable and creates transparency when dealing with commissions.

“I always do it on my own just to cover my own ass. The only time people get monitored now is at the fights,” Henderson said. “I think it might be good to have stricter monitoring where people are getting tested throughout the year.”

Most commissions accept HRT exemptions if there is documented proof from a physician (some require an edocrinologist’s sign-off). The Nevada State Athletic Commission adopted a two-strike rule from WADA which states it will not approve an exemption if a fighter has been caught using steroids or testosterone illegally in the past as it is likely abuse caused their present condition, meaning Marquardt will be SOL when applying for a license in Vegas.

NSAC executive director Keith Kizer says that he sees no issue in the approval of fighters who legitimately need to use TRT as long as they are not using it to gain an advantage.

“You don’t want to stop an athlete from doing it if he’s got a legitimate chemical deficiency,” Kizer said. “In situations where they need it to live a healthy, long life, maybe have kids, whatever, you don’t want to take that away. But, it is fair that the burden falls on them to prove they need it and that they are following it.”

Mr. Rugby is 100% on all accounts!!

Condit vs Diaz is going to be amazing, I really like Condit in this fight and has been my boy since the WEC days!!

I am obviously biased going into this fight, since the WEC gave me first big break job that lead into the UFC, so I usually root for the WEC guys!!

I had Sonnen winning the 1st and 3rd rounds, and thought Joe Rogan was being a bit biased in favor of Bisping during his commentating. I didn't see the fight the same way at all as Rogan (and apparently other people) especially when he thought Sonned needed to finish Bisping to get the win. Kudos to Sonnen for stepping it up in the third. I would much rather see Sonnen fight Anderson than a Bisping/Anderson fight. I think Sonnen is just a bad matchup for Anderson in general. He has a style that will frustrate Anderson, tire him out, and make him struggle. Kudos to you, Chael.

Diaz vs Condit is more exciting to me than either of these two against GSP. The only way I see Nick getting TKO'd is if from a doctor's stoppage due to a bad cut. I honestly don't see either fighter being finished. If Diaz doesn't get sloppy, I see him winning the standup battle over five rounds. Since Condit works with Jackson and is aware that Nick's boxing has become his bread and butter in wearing out his opponents, I GUARANTEE you Condit is going to try to make this a wrestling match to exploit Nick's lack of wrestling. I would love to see a standup or grappling war between Nick and Carlos, but unfortunately I think the Jackson camp intends to make this a boring fight by implementing the GSP wrestling strategy. It's smart, safe, but not aesthetically pleasing.

I see Condit getting caught on ground and getting subbed by Diaz.
