I just think it's funny that you got a guy like LeBron more or less wanting to "stick to sports" when it comes to questions and responses on the matter. I'm supportive of their freedom of speech on any number of social issues, agree or disagree, but as soon as it's one that'll hurt their bottom line they're very happy to feign ignorance.

As it's been pointed out on Deadspin, the hypocrisy is pretty hilarious in a sad, obvious way.

I agree, but when we look to professional athletes as role models and guideposts for ethical behavior we've truly lost our way. Beyond that, there are very few who step out on issues when it adversely impacts their bottom line. So LeBron is one of the many and not one of the few

True and I've never looked to sports figures as a guidepost (maybe role models when I was a teenager a la Michael Jordan, but I grew out of it). The point I'm trying to make is just be consistent in your stance. If you're going to speak up for one injustice, speak up for all. Now LeBron's giving the "we're not politicians" lines and without trying to bring politics into this thread, as we already have a few on this board as it is, LeBron's been pretty critical of Trump and even threw support to Hillary during her campaign. Which I understand, is completely his prerogative. Just don't say you're such an outspoken leader but when it comes to China, now you're not a politician. So if you're unwilling to speak on that issue, why should anyone listen to you in the future on other issues?

^Fair enough.

On to BB, how many wins do you see the Lakers ending with?? More than the Clippers?

Depends on how long Paul George is going to be out. Have they given a timeline on his return yet? I'll give them this, I think the Lakers did a fine job filling out the rest of that roster.

George out at least the first 10 games. I think the Clips will have a better record even with the injury.

Yeah that's not much time he's gonna miss. As long as LeBron (and AD) stay healthy, I like the Lakers to have a better record.

The Clips won 48 games without Leonard or George last year and didn't give up a ton of players to get them.

Wolves > Clippers
KAT > George
Wiggins > Leonard

That's the gospel if you're a believer.

I'm sorry but Wiggins is a bust and that's from a die-hard KU fan.

it was a blessing when Embiid slipped to 3 in that draft and the sixers took him instead of jabari or wiggins

Disagree, 4 coaches in 6 years is the reason. Saunders offers familiarity for the first time in his career. It's ok, keep writing him off - we'll see.

I seriously hope he can put it together, he has loads of talent. I lost faith when he disappeared in the NCAA tournament and he hasn't done anything to restore it. He just seems so apathetic. I do agree that organizations bear a good amount of responsibility, like Draymond Green recently alluded to, but nobody is doubting how good Towns is and he has been in the same situation.

Wiggins certainly isn't in the same class as Leonard, right now. I will happily eat crow if he turns in an all-star kinda year though. I always want former Jayhawks to succeed.

Man, that felt like an April game. This season is going to be something else.
