Honestly I'm surprised Harper and Machado haven't signed yet.

I think they both do this week. I also think the Yankees are playing coy... smoke screen of signing Lemahieu, still in on Machado.

and because it's not my money, I want both Manny & Bryce

Reading this morning that the White Sox offered Machado an 8 year deal. Guess he'll have to decide whether he wants the security of a long term contract or a shot at winning (anytime soon).

he'd be crazy to not take the security & guaranteed money.

but as a selfish fan, I'd like him to accept a 4 year deal with the Yanks with one of those nifty 4 year option clauses built in.

I'm not sure they're playing coy. I think the genuinely don't want another $200 or $300 million+ contract on the books. They already have Stanton's 13-year deal, which is only 4 years in by the way. Plus, they're still going to need to save money for when Aaron Judge, Luis Severino and the like hit free agency. I think they might be playing the long game here.

Machado brings a circus with him.
Dirty player...
Relieved my team isn’t interested.

I definitely think his comments and dirty play in the playoffs cost him money. Idiot.

Can't stand the guy, he def hurt himself in the postseason, but everyone hates him until he's on their team (well, most of of us). Of course when he gets jettisoned eventually everyone hates him again, I'm sure most of us remember "that's just Manny being Manny". I'm glad that the Red Sox want neither, then again, they hosed themselves enough to pay luxury tax. I am a little alarmed that they don't seem to be too interested in making any moves at all. We'll see.

Seager is scheduled to return as far as I know... saves LA from even considering Machado.
Tommy john surgury isn’t a surgery that everyone recovers from, but I think it helps that Seager is so young and he’s not a pitcher.

Reports are the White Sox have offered Machado 7 years and $175. Not sure what the Phillies offered and a little surprised it hasn't got to $200 million. Looks like he and possibly Harper will have to take what they can get; and while they're at it, forget those dreams of a $300 or $400 million contract.

Yup, I agree with y’all...
That dirty play last year was very costly.

Yankees got Adam Ottavino at 3 years for $27 million. Glad they fortified their bullpen by resigning Britton and now adding Ottavino.

Yankees traded Sonny Gray and relief prospect Reiver Sanmartin to Cincinnati for second base prospect Shed Long and a Competitive Balance Round A pick. They then in turn traded Long to Seattle for center field prospect Josh Stowers. Gray signed a three year, $30.5 million extension with Cincinnati to facilitate the deal.
