Did he open a case or just send you a message? If it was me I'd say I don't have another copy but could try to find one from another seller for him with price TBD and the sale off of eBay.

He officially (via an ebay form I guess) requested a refund on eBay but didn't open a case. He's asking for a couple for about 1/3 the price. I'm sure I could get one for the same price but we're only talking about a $75 print here.

Edit: or rather, they requested a return but asked for another copy in the message.

If you buy a jar of salsa and drop it in your driveway can you take it back to the store and get another one at a discount ?

Well, I work as an engineer for a grocery chain... And yes, we give refunds/exchanges on those kind of buyer issues way more than you'd think.

Not that I plan on giving one, just a first for me is all.

i'm assuming you packed it like you should and the buyer went full EBer on it. i would show step by step process on how you packed and be like there is nothing unusual about this way...

It was packed pretty standard. Kraft the length of the tube, tissue paper, and i wrap two strips of bubble wrap around each print to keep it off the sides of the tube and prevent it from rolling around. I dog ear all of the tape so they're easy to remove.

personally, would contact eBay and ask them. assuming the buyer actually admitted that they tore it, i would think it would be ruled in your favor. eBay would probably remove any associated feedback as well.

I lost this one with the same scenario (except he didn't admit to ripping it):

Do ya'll use masking tape/some other easily removable tape? If not, serves ya right. Can't imagine how many Obey returns happen because of the chitty tape they use.

Yeah he admitted to it twice but he hasn't opened a claim or left feedback, so we'll see.

I use packing tape and always do a pull tab the whole way across on each piece, if you rip the poster it's definitely your fault.

That sticker. Such a pain in my balls when I got my colbert.
normally it was taped, with the sticker placed over it.

sadly, some buyers are unsure of what to expect and it normally results in damage due to their lack of education or rush to unpackage. i once had someone go off on me for shipping a print rolled. they were new to collecting and they were expecting it to be shipped flat.
