I'm not seeing this at all. Having no problem listing and selling items. I never use promoted listings. Thought typically the items I list are specific enough that there is not more than 10 of them on ebay at any given time.stuckeyc wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 10:26 amEbay is pretty much dead for the casual seller. Views on all my listings have dropped from 100s to single digits since they started in with their overly specific item descriptions and exorbitant promoted listing fees. I am certain they suppress listings that don't buy into that and it's a roll of the dice to actually find stuff with their search. Did an experiment yesterday did the same search 5 different times and results were different every time. It's terrible
dusting this thread off
recently had a buyer enter their address incorrectly on eBay, they forgot the apartment/suite number. UPS hit me with a $18 address correction fee.
currently in a dispute that I know will get rejected because UPS wouldn't give a fudge that the original buyer gave me wrong info. so now I'll have to fight with eBay about it

Any reason to use UPS over USPS? Cutting down tubes to 21.5 hasn't been an issue, and the price difference for me is usually <$1.00 between the two.

Jeez man, I guess I'm about a year late to this but stuckeyc is right, ebay just drymounting blows for sellers now. The fees + the other fees + the alternate fees + whatever else they want to fee is out of control. I sold a print to an international buyer recently and when all was said and done, ebay got about 20% of the total.
Also like stuckey said, the prints I do have up for sale are getting a small fraction of the views they should normally get.
Like everything else, it had to ruined for our almighty worship of leveraged capitalism

I'm not someone else.
Man I swore I would never sell on ebay again.
Shipped to the address they provided, then the tracking shows some weird extra stops, and now I have to wait a month and see if the buyer files a complaint before they’ll release the funds. Never again.
97215 is where it should have gone, but it continues on.

I actually do alright selling on ebay these days, but I've got a pretty strict model for selling:
$1 start
no reserve
all sales as is, no returns
max photos
insurance included, shipping is not, sig required as necessary for declared value
offer ups, usps, fedex, and local pickup
don't ship outside the US
pretty much zero complaints, outside of yeah, the fees - $1 start/no reserve keeps ya from getting in yer feels about market value, and helps keep the market honest
I will say for all of the musicians on the board, if you're selling guitar stuff, make sure what you're selling is under "guitars and basses", literally anywhere - fees are only 6% and ebay will refund you if they botch that

Anybody else having an issue where if a search comes up with more than one page, if you go to what should be the results on the last page it shows all the listings again from the first page?
This has been going on for a while for me.

Now we can’t send an invoice to a buyer after accepting an offer? What a shithole ebay is now.

The last 2 sales I've made were accepted offers. In the past, when you accept an offer the very next page has a link to send buyer an invoice. That is no longer there. And when I looked on the sale page and Actions, I didn't see the option to send an invoice. I didn't search further than that because WTF, it's so dumb that it doesn't pop up on the next page after you accept an offer.

the whole best offer process has changed recently. at least from the buyers end, you have to have a payment preset before you submit best offer now
