They're still good when it comes to shipping beer.

Ebay chat useless, called and credited in 3 minutes. FedEx added an extra pound to the package along with larger dimensions on a poster tube. Also estimated delivery of 2-3 days was actually 8 days, so yeah I think I'll refrain from choosing FedEx in the future.
Yeah cotis basically the same except mine was continental US. Interesting to read that they go by dimensional weight with that comment right after yours if that's accurate. Either way, not using them to send a tube again.

Just sold an item on eBay and went to print shipping for a USPS Priority mail label for a 3 lb package 20x15x8, a pretty normal sized box. Price is showing $68, I about fell over. Then went to USPS to calculate the price. Same price showed up. When in the hell did shipping become so expensive? A 3 lb 24" Tube used to cost me about $16 cross country.
holiday rates have not helped, but shipping overall has been ^^^ for awhile now.davemfan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 11:23 amJust sold an item on eBay and went to print shipping for a USPS Priority mail label for a 3 lb package 20x15x8, a pretty normal sized box. try PirateShip and see what you get as a quote, they're pretty good especially with USPS and UPS discounts now. had one issue with a tube randomly selected for weight at distribution center (who knew this was a thing??) and getting a bill saying the tube weighed 8lbs. PirateShip understood these errors happen and credited me within 24 hours. also had my USPS drop off receipt with weight but they didn't even want that.
May have to look into that for next time. Luckily is was a vinyl record and I could use media mail as a backup. Just hope buyer doesn't complain that he "paid for priority" even though I offered free shipping and had Priority listed as my method. Who knows, he may not even notice.cotis wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 11:39 amholiday rates have not helped, but shipping overall has been ^^^ for awhile now.

had that happen once. buyer complained to ebay about it and they left negative feedback, despite the item being received in like 3-4 days.davemfan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 11:42 amMay have to look into that for next time. ebay removed negative feedback and told me just put listing as "Standard Shipping" in future to alleviate issues.

received this message after I sent him relisted auction:
"Hi,
Sorry, I thought it over and I am going to pass on this afterall.
But, thank you for all your help and I will let you know if anything changes. Thanks!"

just accepted a best offer, buyer was pissed to see that eBay charges tax, and told me he would only pay if I included another print of his choosing for free to account for the $12 in tax

Reasons to not use media mail, ever!
1. They can open it at any time to ensure that the item fits their definition of "media mail" (and they do this)

I ship thousands of items every week with media mail, I can't think of a single problem with the post office opening a package all year.
^ You are probably talking to a bot.
