I believe I've had this before and it's good. Same as you, I dig the Oktoberfest beers (but I also like some pumpkin beers as well). I haven't had a lot of the Sierra Nevada's so that's why this stands out to me. I gave it a try last year or the year before and I wasn't disappointed.
Yeah every year the collaborate with different brewery from Germany. Never had a bad year.

Can't say I've heard of this particular brewery, anyone had them?

Yup, been a few years but def enjoyed it when I had it. Might be worthwhile to give them a call tbh.....I've spoken to them in the past, and dude emailed me a few times when they put zombie up on the site. They were mad helpful.

If you're close to the answer (richmond), I'm sure you can work out a trade with some illi/indy peeps.

It's that time of the year again! Taste testing some Oktoberfest and Pumpkin beers (most I've had before and a few new ones I'm trying).

I did about 20 something of each last year and basically am done with them now. LOL. I really like the Saint Arnold though. Sad I moved and can't get their output more regularly now.

I've never been a huge fan of St. Arnold's personally. I prefer Karbach. I think I tried St. Arnold's Oktoberfest last year but not 100% sure so I'm giving it another shot. My favorite of their's is their Raspberry AF!

I actually had someone recommend the Southern Tier Pumpking to me yesterday but it's not for sale anywhere near me. Also, I like the Spaten Oktoberfest but I'm partial to Spaten as I like their regular beer. You should try Paulaner and Hofbrau Oktoberfest. They're both good if you like German beers!

As my pallet has changed over the years and I've gravitated to darker beers I find it harder and harder to find a pumpkin style that I enjoy but like I said in the blog. I don't think I could have gotten as deep into the craft beer fold if I never would have had pumpkin beers. The searching out new brands to try got me looking at other things and then had a connect at AB that got me some Bourbon County back in '12 (I think?) and ever since I've preferred BA over everything else... but the milkshake IPA's are definitely pretty damn tasty.
