Really depends on where in Maine they are going to be. In Portland, you gotta hit Allagash for sure. Their new(ish) brewery is really nice. I'd even recommend a tour because they'll take you into the wild room where you get to taste some interesting stuff. I also enjoyed Rising Tide which is tiny but right next to Maine Craft Distilling where you can take a break from beer and sip some interesting stuff like carrot gin. Bunker brewing is good too but I remember them having weird hours. Also, good luck finding it but there is a really great beer bar there called Novare Res.

Outside of Portland my favorites were the obvious Maine Beer Co. in Freeport and the less obvious Marshall Wharf in Belfast. Belfast is a little far unless you're on your way to Bar Harbor or something though.

I think the brewers association has worked on a Maine beer map. If you go to one of the breweries they should have one and it has a bunch of breweries listed all over the state. You can also refer to this: http://beermapping.com/maps/citymaps.ph ... efined&z=3

In closing, Maine is awesome.

If he is a beer guy he has to make the trip to Lovell to Ebenezer's, the best beer bar I have ever been to.

Had the Fort Point and Pier last night, both phenomenal. Trillium never disappoints. Looking forward to the Day & Night blonde barleywine with cold brewed coffee.

I really want to try Fort Point and all the varieties of it.. mosaic, double dry hopped, galaxy dry hopped, etc. All of them are highly rated. I've heard good things about the Trillium Artaic DIPA too.

Hey Campers -

We're going to have a couple of beer Rock Stars at Monk's for a couple of hours at Monk's Café. Jean van Roy, owner and brewer at Brasserie Cantillon, and Jean Hummler, owner of Brussels' famed Moeder Lambic bars will be here Wednesday, October 14th, from approximately 5PM until 7PM. We expect to be pouring seven Cantillon Lambics for this event.

Then Jean VR, Jean H, and I head to Florida early Thursday morning for The Shelton Brothers' "The Festival".

I wanted you to know these über cool guys will be hanging at Monk's that evening. Be here or be square!

Cantillon Fou Foune - these are at least 5 years old, maybe 10. As Jean VR says...some people like young Fou Foune, while others prefer older Fou Foune. It is a matter of personal taste.

Cantillon Monk’s Café Cuvée Gueuze. This version is quite different from a traditional Cantillon Gueuze/ I used an Amarillo late hopped wort for the three year old barrel. This is the first time Jean used those American hops. He was appalled by the aroma when he pumped the beer from the brew kettle.
