I still have a couple of their 22's in my fridge that I haven't popped yet. The almond joy one and the Happens It's Tuesday Smores just not in any hurry after all the cans were disappointments.
Go ahead, make my millennium.
I'm guessing you mean BA Bomb from Prairie? I like their beers but a couple years back I had a Gold Wax (Batch 1?) Bomb that I sat on for maybe 3-4 years. It didn't hold up well, oxidized and tasted like green beans. Was stuck in Tulsa one time and visited the brewery. At the time Oklahoma had some weird bible belt law where the brewery couldn't serve anything over 5% ABV, so all the offerings were these 1 off 2-3% saisons and lagers. They were tasty but it was sad that a brewery known for BA stouts wasn't able to sell on premise.
We're having a blind tasting tomorrow of 2020 non-adjunct BA stouts. I only know what I'm bringing. What should we have in that lineup?
(Currently drinking a beer with a tiny pinecone on top)
It was $15 for the bottle, not my favorite style of beer but I did like the gin barrel. They do make tasty BA Stout bombs...
Had a blind tasting with non-adjunct barrel aged stouts on Saturday. Did 2 rounds of 5 (mostly) 2020 beers. 5 of us rated each round from #1 to #5, then had a 3rd round of the winner from each round. Beers were ranked based on what we ranked them. (Lowest is best) 4 out of 5 picked BBT in the 3rd round. No surprise BBT won. Surprised Maman didn't do better. Some less hyped breweries/beers really held their own. Yes, I know this is next level beer nerd fudge. Don't worry, the host's wife who kindly poured the samples for us reminded how silly it was.
1. Side Project - Beer Barrel Time 2020 (7)
2. More - Rada (8)
3. Phase Three - Minutiae (11)
4. Goose Island - DBBCBS 2019 (14)
5. Pulpit Rock - Kos (15)
6. American Solera - Sons of Darkness 2018 (15)
7. The Eighth State - Cypher
8. Forager - Riffs And Filters
9. Perennial - Maman 2020
10. Dogfish Head - Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout (2020)

Love that color!
Lactose additions have been hit or miss for me, this is one of my favorites so far from LIC Beer Project.
Crisp taste, not too heavy. Need to grab more of this
We did notice that even though we liked some more than others, they were all A-list beers. It was more of a test to see if the ultra hype beers were really all they command on secondary. Utopias WWS was the only odd ball that people didn't think fit in with the rest. It was thin in comparison and had a spicy, rye like taste.
@phishstix101 - A lot of that Humble Forager is made by Octopi in Waunakee, WI. It's a huge contract brewery that's making all kinds of stuff and expanding every year. If it says Waunakee on the can, that's Octopi. They also make some of the Aldi beers. My friend is one of the many brewers there and he comes back with all kinds of very tasty under the radar stuff. I hadn't heard of them until he started brewing there.
