I actually enjoy it more with some age. That bite is gone which for me is a little much. More honey comes through with some age that I have really enjoyed.halftonegraphics wrote:have a bottle share in a few weeks that im bringing a bottle with a years age on it. should be interesting how it tastes.kansasbbq wrote:chalkdust wrote:I'd make sweet love to that thang..

In my opinion it (Hopslam) turns into a malt bomb after a few months or less (which is why the cans intrigue me if if allows it to stay fresher longer).Baker wrote:I actually enjoy it more with some age. If the bite of an IPA or a double IPA gets to you, that style of beer isn't probably your cup of tea
No, this is specific to hopslam for me. I like plenty of IPAs. There's just something to Hopslam that I like it after it chills out some.

Don't give up on flanders yet. The dissident is ~11% ABV which isn't typical for the style.
It can be hit or miss for sure...I've had it on tap when it was really good and I couldn't stop drinking it and I've had it in bottles where it was close to a drain pour. It's defitately inconsistent, even among batches in the same year it seemslemtar999 wrote:controversial opinion but Hopslam isn't that good.....
Hopslam just might be my fav DIPA and I'm not big DIPA fan in general. Hope we get more out here this year. #realtalk

I just picked one up. You know you are supposed to let it sit for almost a year, right? There's a best after date on the side.rhythmgtr5 wrote:halftonegraphics wrote:cracked a Deschutes Dissident tonight. guess i didnt know what to expect. pretty aweful. then again, not much a fan of sours.
