Sounds like it. Comes off as bitter... you would think they would be pumped that their "friends" just got paiiiiiiiiiiiddddddd.

Also, idk why people assume AB automatically means crappy beer. Look at Goose BCS and some of their heavy hitters.
Its far more what has been said by both JK and Black Project, and its that "Big Beer" regularly does everything it can to try and push out the smaller craft breweries. Thats the way I see it atleast.

I mean hear what you are saying and I used to be a lot more worried. But look at Ballast Point.... price has come down a little and supply has grown. All their stuff still tastes damn good, too.

Basically, as long as the quality is the same and the price doesn't increase while having more in supply.... it's a win win.

They're maintaining that the quality won't change one bit.

Most of the time it is not about quality, its about the way that the big conglomerates try to put the smaller breweries out of business. They have highly questionable tactics to force stores to put their products front and center and other things. They basically do everything possible to put small breweries out of business.

Of course they are !! They cant tell it how it really is tho, shits gonna be all drymounted up and wonky for at least a year or two or maybe forever. Contract brewing /Massive expansions kill the true micro brew they were seeking to keep making IMO.

Id actually argue that Sculpin in particular has definitely dropped off some and is not as good as it used to be. When I lived in Seattle I used to drink it all the damn time and loved it. When distro hit TN last year it definitely wasnt the same beer it used to be.

Tickets to Wicked Weed Brewing’s 2017 Funkatorium Invitational go on sale in three days, but by then the line-up of breweries that are attending will look very different.

That is because a number of breweries have decided to pull out of the Invitational within hours after Wicked Weed announced it was acquired by AB InBev earlier today.

In emails and Facebook messages, six different breweries that had agreed to pour their beer at the event have confirmed to Tenemu that they will dropping out:

Black Project Brewing
Grimm Artisanal Ales
Jackie O’s Public House & Brewpub
Jester King Brewery
OEC Brewing
Trillium Brewing Co.
It's now 18 and counting....

That's a bingo. Whether quality suffers/improves and its relation to a sale (in broad strokes) is such a complicated argument to make.

When hometown hero Goose Island originally broke down this barrier it was pretty disappointing. Now, not so much... maybe because it's so common or I've been conditioned to expect this sort of thing will be the norm as the natural result of the capitalistic system we live in.

I would actually like to see one of these breweries just came out and say "We are getting drymounting PAID and our beer is going to be available in many more markets. This was the plan all along." instead of the see-through corporate "we will still be the same humble craft brewers" bullshit they spew. THAT would be original.
