Looking to buy a wallet for the wife. Any recommendations?
I noticed hers started falling apart. We bought it in some handcrafted art whatever store in Hawaii 7 years ago when we were pregnant with the first and it is probably why she is still keeping it (I have no clue, really, but that would me my guess). So I am looking for something to replace it with.
Hers is about 5x3 inches and likely that’s the size she prefers, though she is probably flexible.
Anything to recommend?
Thanks.

Telfar vegan leather the next big thing I hear.
Vegan leather is another name for vinyl or faux leather. There are also paper products that are also called vegan leather. There are different grades of this material... i.e. upholstery grade and a higher grade for bag making - (this stuff is so soft/supple you'd never know it was faux...beautiful stuff.)
The wallet size you mentioned, bubbie, is pretty small which leads to me to think that she likes to carry in her pocket on occasion? I, too, prefer smaller wallets for this reason. Some ladies carry big huge wallets...claiming that 12 credit card slots aren't enough. I mean...who the hell carries that many cards? lol...you'd be surprised.
Things to consider...what's her fav color?
What kind of closure? Zip around, snap, magnetic snap, turn lock, slide lock...etc.
What color hardware? There are quite a few options: gold, silver, pink gold, gunmetal, antique gold. The latest fad is rainbow hardware color. I'm not big on in-your-face gimmicky stuff. I did purchase custom zipper tape that has skull teeth. I caved and bought some... very cool stuff.
I made my first wallet for my sis last xmas. It's a minimalists wallet... hers was the mini version to match the infinity scarf I made for her. I've learned a lot since making this. Just love bag making so MUCH.

Yeah... calling it vegan seems weird to me, too.
Cork is used as a leather alternative. I have yet to use it. The good quality stuff is very expensive, but is gorgeous. A friend used cork in lieu of leather to make bags when she moved to Hawaii - leather goods (stock/rolls) will mold if in that wet environment for long periods.

Can we get the join dates back so we can yell at the 2020ers for drymounting up the world?

Thanks for the wallet suggestions. Cool stuff, iWish. Turned out, the wife ordered one online when I made the post, lol. Weird coincidence.
P. S. Ain’t no way I am going to buy synthetic leather.
But what if it’s organic?
