Here here. When you look at the numbers compared to other countries, there's just no argument to keep them.Grateful69Phish wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 7:41 amAmerica - not responsible enough to allow guns

Bath school disaster, pair of bombings on May 18, 1927, of Bath Consolidated School in Bath Township, Michigan, U.S., that killed 38 schoolchildren. The perpetrator, Andrew Kehoe, also killed five adults in addition to himself in the worst school massacre in American history.

He isn’t wrong though (aside from being an ass).
- I’ll pay $200
- Sorry, but this is a day or less worth of work and the standard charge is $250-300 per day.
- Ok, I’ll stretch and pay $250
- Sorry, but paying this little is against everything I stand for, so I am not going to advertise this job to the artists I work with.
- Ok.
Later:
- Look, I made this poster using AI for free and now am being an ass telling everyone that the idiot refused to take the market rate he himself provided to create a poster (that would probably look worse than what you see here because look at posterspy website).
- I didn’t suggest AI! He is trying to ruin my reputation!

I think what Jack was saying is that it's more than a days work
It also seems that Tom wanted Jack to run a contest with multiple artists, with only one poster chosen as the winner of the $250 gig. I've spent way too much time reading the comments on this.
Great link though. Very timely in our little circles.
You gotta love the Animal Awareness dude saying: "Change or Die Jack, that's what the universe is all about. Change or die" without a hint of irony.

That’s not how I read it (looks like the post was removed, so can’t read again). Even then, it sounds like he said a day of work is worth $250-300, which the guy offered and “Jack” said it isn’t enough anyway. His first email that he posted also read like it was written by a douche.ygolohcysp wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 1:56 pmI think what Jack was saying is that it's more than a days work
Took a quick look at a few comments and there are (supposedly) artists saying they would probably take the job for $250.
“Jack” also probably posted only what he thought will make him look best in the situation.
It appears that two asses found each other and provided some very mild entertainment to the masses.
But, again, looking at “Jack’s” website, it doesn’t appear to be shining with exceptional talent and professionalism (at least from a very quick look on the first page) and I have a feeling that there are artists on his list that would take the $250, depending on the details we haven’t seen being made public.
“Tom’s” last email/message is definitely wacky though. Especially for a CEO of a questionable (probably pretend) charity. At least, it got people outraged.
Also agree with Loobaz about “change or die”. That’s pretty close to gold.
I didn’t read jack as being a douche. The other guy though is psychotic and clearly shady AF. Went from 0 to “YOU MADE ME DO A.I. AND SCREWED YOUR PROFESSION” in a blink. Funny that he called Jack “gatekeeper” after going *to* jack specifically for him to get the word out. That is reverse-engineering.
$250 for a day’s work seems cheap for someone with overhead costs and who I’m guessing is unlikely to finish it in a day.
Used to read about artists getting screwed in these situations on GP a lot.
