4runner repairs look terrific. Makes me want to get the entire vehicle repainted, but that would cost a pretty penny. Besides, if I did... I'd feel as though I'd need to increase insurance coverage from liability to full coverage - an increase of $140 mo. Yeesh. Good thing I live in the desert (no rusting) just faded paint. I love my 4runner... so glad to get it back.

I'm amazed that Firestone's insurance had it repaired. Repair costs $2900. In addition to paying for a rental for almost 1 mo. I'm sure this cost $5K total for everything.

I haven't paid FS, yet, because I want them to deduct the $140 I paid for additional insurance on the rental.
We'll see how it goes...
I'd short pay them. I owe you $700 and you owe me $140, here is $560.

So Alec Baldwin shoots a fake cartridge and kills a crew member and injures another. Damn... Tough luck for those affected.

Finished watching Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The whole build up to the breaking in and the consequences was totally drymounting worth it.

Not the best of Quentin’s flicks, imo, but it will do.

Crazy. Not the first time it happened. I remember when Brandon Lee died in one of those scenes during the filming of The Crow. In that movie pretty much everyone was shooting at him.

I believe the same cause as well, a piece from a previous blank not being cleared from the chamber and then becoming a projectile.

Horrendous

Yeah, forgot about that one. Seems like something easily preventable.

Sadly, she had to watch a lot of her union crew walk off the set due to already unsafe working conditions well before this. I hope the armorer wasn't one of 'em, but here we are. Oof.

Armorer was apparently offspring of Tarantino's regular armorer, and relatively new. Tarantino's sets have been known to be unsafe, perhaps a red flag. And the AD that selected weapon to hand to A had no business doing so.

And another thing, the Cheddar Goblin was produced by Casper Kelly and designed/created by Shane Morton. Because of union rules and their own lack of interest (I've inquired a few times with no reply), you'll never see Mondo ever be able to give credit where it's really due amidst some of their flood. This isn't the first time, but it truly sucks for the artist.

One more photo of recent makes. No Halloween fabric for the guys, so I made these atlas pouches for both BIL's. Antique bronze zippers w/compass pulls. Love 'em!

My sister sent me this ad from...like... 1976. Ha-ha! She wants me to make one for her. I'm still practicing using vinyl... this might be a good way to finally start sewing leather. I won't buy expensive leather, though... I'll buy a used leather jacket at the thrift store and upcycle.

Yeah, the one thing I really want to see before I croak is the aurora. Thanks for the pics.

^ I noticed every time there is a talk about it in the news, either it’s a dud in the boonies or we have overcast. There was a bit of aurora yesterday, kind of “lame” though. Today nothing but stars in the clear sky. The last decent one, and it was very decent, happened on October 12. I only took a few pics with my phone:

It was very vivid. Usually phones do not do well with northern lights for obvious reasons, first and foremost being you need at least a bit of exposure in order to capture them. With exposure, however, you often sacrifice on the colours other than green. On October 12, it was really bright and some crazy movement too. I haven’t seen one like that for a long while, at least a couple of years (doesn’t necessarily mean it wasn’t there that long, I just haven’t seen it).

I was even able to shoot a short video with the phone. If I figure out how to turn it into a gif, I will post it. It is significantly darker than the photos above, of course.
