"Lay off Detroit, Them peoples is living in Mad Max times." Moe Szyslak
Hey! setting aside my goof-troop-movement for a moment, and log-wedging once more where I only ever belong as a Loki. Sometimes even my chaos needs randomly refocusing before the third rail is lost entirely:
From The Psychologist (UK):
"Power and social networks:
...humans evolved as a group species, and it seems likely that the most potent type of experience impacting on brain function should be social relationships.
In a study of social networks and neurodegeneration for instance, Bennett et al. (2006) found that while post-mortem Alzheimer’s disease-linked pathology and cognition several years before death showed a reasonable correlation among individuals with relatively sparse social networks, the cognition–pathology correlation disappeared among groups with relatively rich social networks. This shows how social variables impact on the biology of the brain and the expression of that biology in cognition.
Dominance hierarchies within humans and other species – and the power and powerlessness that go with them – are a particularly potent element of social relationships, and have immense effects on cognitive and emotional function. Macaques low in a dominance hierarchy, for instance, are much more likely to self- administer cocaine due to the fact that low social power has led to depleted dopamine in their reward networks, thus increasing the attractiveness of cocaine’s dopamine- mediated reward effects (Morgan et al., 2002). It seems highly likely that the socio-economic gradient that exists in human drug use (Daniel et al., 2009) may in part be attributable to such mechanisms, as indeed may be the wider range of morbidities and mortality associated with low socio economic status."
Not that anyone on here has a coke problem, but it's been a long few decades for so many fighting for or against personal genetics, environments... and I just hear of another accidental OD back in the A that floored me if I can be floored any more after all before.
I'm...working through what happened over the last year everywhere...not just on here...and it's really rich territory for shaking off my own willful ignorance. I apologize to myself, because it's not my fault or anyone's. The real wisdom of trauma is its eventual loud embrace in appropriate settings. This isn't that setting, and volumes occasionally need adjusting. Self-moderation amid so many moderators makes all that we curate--in any niche or theatre--valueless without breathing down, through the feet: feeling the anchor to earth's core from our own, and just being in the moment. Too much to lose for us all, everyday. Namaste.

He doesn't have may other places to poke his nose. Belurus is closely allied with Putin. He already invaded Georgia. The Baltics are part of NATO and Putin will not mess with a NATO country. Azerbaijan is hardly worth it. Hopefully the Ukrainians make Russia bleed heavily over this.Grateful69Phish wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 8:18 amhold on to your posters - Ukraine is rupturing world peace
