I really like this thread. You guys have some great stuff on here! It's inspiring to see the work of others and always makes me want to get out and shoot more often. During my photo class a while ago it was hard NOT to shoot. But when the semester ended, my job kinda took priority.
I scanned some of my project photos from class. I shot them with a second hand 1993 minolta on ilford 35mm. The prints were all on fiber and archivally washed. I was very meticulous in the darkroom, I remember wasting some beautiful spring days in that place just to get out that one "keeper".

My dad was just going through some images he took when he was in China in 2003, when he spotted this image. That's the raw image and my dad didn't even notice what was in it. Of all the places in China to take a snap-shot, what are the chances?
very cool, what the hell are the chances, right? and i would have to guess thats one that shep put up himself.

Holga lenses are fixed aperture...best guess is between 5.6 and 11. Yeah, that wide a range. God only knows. And enough light will leak that the effective aperture of any given shot can vary that much. Focal length fixed at 60mm. A total piece of fudge plastic lens -- the actual lens, not the casing, as in, the eyeball part of it is plastic. You focus by turning the front, you're actually unscrewing it to bring the two elements further apart. I accidentally took the front completely off last night twice trying to focus. Most of these shots are between 2 and 4 seconds' exposure, ISO anywhere between 100 and 1600 but usually around 400 or 800. Obviously, there's no way to know what's "right" for this lens, so I would take about 12 shots from the same tripod setup, tweaking it each time until the LCD looked like I got something cool. Usually the last shot was the one I kept. Imagine how much film was wasted in real Holgas!
The Holga a total garbage camera that sometimes makes for really striking pictures. And this modded version for my DSLR is such a cool piece to add to the camera kit.
