Photographers - I want to get back into photography, but I desperately need to upgrade my camera. I was working with a low cost Samsung DSLR, which works fine for happy snaps, but is really not ideal anymore. I want to upgrade my camera to something better, but I'm still restricted by a budget.

So, new cameras are out, which is a shame. My price range is $AU400-$750, which I know isn't a heck of a lot. At the moment, I've been looking at Canon 60D's and 70D's, which fit into that area and - as far as I understand - even though they're old, they're supposed to still be quite good.

What should I be looking out for? What are the models to avoid? What are the older models that still stand up today?

Needs: good quality photos, reliable shots, SD card
Do not need: wifi, video

Cheers.

It's been a while since posting here, but took this one from the top of Mount Fuji.

Snapped this via my phone last month in NYC.

If you have a chance to visit the 911 Memorial, I strongly recommend it.
