Amazing! I love that shot.

The Golden Gate Bridge is inexhaustible for photo opportunities. Always a cool way to shoot it.

I took 35mm photography classes for 4 years in high school. Wanted to take it in college but could not afford the fees  (this was before digital was commercially available).

I still like to tinker from time to time. Found this cool app, Retro Camera, for my Droid that makes photos look like they came from the old-style, point and shoot box cameras. Is it pro-quality? Hell No. Is it fun? Yes!

I'm just using a Canon G10. Nothing too special. I prefer it to a larger slr as it's easy to trek around with and you've got a lot of flexibility with your shooting. It's not always easy to get your shot as you have to rely on the back screen to focus, but I'm getting better at it.

I'm in Japan for work for a few weeks. Last night I went to a 'Fan Festival' parade. Fan as in the kind to keep you cool - it's about 100 degrees and 100% humidity here in Kumagaya! Snapped this and thought it really captured what was going on. These teams of drummers ride these floats down the streets guided by others on foot carrying lanters. This is before sunset so the laterns weren't really doing their jobs yet. All really cool!

a couple shots for those who are suffering through the heat. these were taken a couple years ago when the harbor froze over. yes, that's frozen salt water thick enough that the fishermen could walk out to their lobster boats.

Isn't that really hard on a boat? I guess there aren't enough dry docks to get them all out of the water?
