Who else here has fallen back into their favorite 1990s hobby of collecting cards?
2021 Topps Baseball starts coming out tonight, anyone opening some packs?

I usually buy a few retail boxes of NHL UD series 1 and 2, just hunting the young guns, breaking packs for fun. Pulled a lafreniere from some target tins, so that was cool.

Used to dabble in NFL, MLB, NBA etc when I worked retail at a comic shop but no interest since then.

That's a nice card. That pack must've felt like a brick on the flex.

im back in, been probably 30 years. i have been buying individual cards but i am tempted on to get some boxes. any tips, upcoming releases to look to? i have been diving in and it seems so much more complicated than i remember as a kid and so much more selection, kind of makes my head spin.

I bought up a few 1986-1991 BBCE FASC boxes of Topps, as well as a few random Donruss and Fleer.....and an '89 UD. Not much excitement, they are just going to sit unopened for a long time.

I mean they have always had a gambling aspect to them of buying the pack and hoping for a good card. Just now with breaks that can be on a much larger scale.

Any one hitting up Targets with their new procedures for cards in place?
Was able to get a NBA Prizm blaster for the first time today thanks to them.

I scored some UD NHL series 2 blasters from target online. Found the item searching for sold out items and then just watched hoping it would come in stock.

What's their new procedure?

All boxes are held and sold on Friday mornings at open. One box (total) per person. So no longer can the first 5 people in the door buy up all the good product.

Gotcha, appreciate the info. I'd rather pick and search online for retail than hit the store in person.

NHL UD series 2 tins hit Target online last week, still available. Kinda surprised tbh, same-ish value as the blasters and those blasters went oos in ~10 minutes each time stock was replenished.
