Just like 35mmpaul said about ordering lunch and needing at least three choices, I think a lot of us are dumbfounded by that comment. I think some useful info when you have the BOD finalized is how many members of the previous board will be on this new and updated board and is that original member who came up with that overseas developer gone?? That is super shady knowing the details we know from this side of the site.

LONG LIVE, EBEANS!!!! :pint:
This sounds like a pretty classic/easy setup for embezzlement, right? One member, one overseas "unreachable" contractor, pay up front? C'mon, anyone check that guy's pockets?
Regardless of the case being negligence/fraud on eb's end, there certainly needs to be more transparency on the circumstances that allowed this to transpire. All donors (& especially those like Rockbridge) are entitled to an explanation.
Sad someone would steal people's good will like this, I'm guessing getting the authorities involved would be a waste of time for a fundraiser of this little amount?

The main impediment there, isn't the amount, but the fact that they're based in the UK, and we don't have any UK counsel at the moment. So if you know anyone who practices law in the UK, and would be willing to help out, connect them with whalaw. We'd love to explore that option. :)

Something's been hitting the site hard for the last two hours. Server's running out of connections. Avg 110% load. This isn't the usual stuff we've seen lately. Will report back when we know more.

The more stuff changes, the more it stays the same. Went back to old school look and feel for part of today.

Issue finally stopped about 1am, and we were able to stabilize things a bit. Site should be better for right now.
We're still working on longer-term solution, and will keep folks posted.
