i mean i'd rather not get kicked out... i've waited this long what's another year. i thought the stuff was cool back when i didn't know what cool was
I couldn't do it. And won't. This guy doesn't have any respect for the people who's money he has. If he kicks you out, he can't just keep the cash - you're better off bailing early and asking for your money back.mattkardish wrote:i mean i'd rather not get kicked out... i've waited this long what's another year. i thought the stuff was cool back when i didn't know what cool was
Ok, since the cat is out of the bag at this point:
I called my bank, and because the purchase is for a single item with payments ranging across a large amount of time, they'll only dispute and refund the first payment, which I've initiated. The final charge for shipping has also been disputed, meaning that at this point, I'll be getting back $60 of $98 spent, which is better than nothing. He did charge $20 for shipping, which, after using recycled materials and overcharging for shipping, is indicative of fraudulent behavior, according to PayPal (although this is something they rarely ever hear about).
The bigger issue is the pattern established by the seller:
Multiple payments, from one customer, for one product, spanning years, without delivery, happening with likely dozens of buyers, resulting in hundreds of transactions, over the entirety of the products being commissioned.
What needs to happen now is that others need to speak up, and also bail before paying for shipping. The more people that report him, the more likely we all get every penny back, all transactions are cancelled, and he's permabanned from PayPal. Now that he is being investigated by PayPal and likely to have his account restricted, it's likely he won't even be able to process shipping payments to him, meaning anyone who is still waiting probably will never get their print, anyways. It could very well get ugly for people who wish to remain silent, so don't keep quiet. Speak up, and walk away.
And that's that. other interesting things may be added here later, but that's the deal for now.

friends don't let friends participate in commissions. wait, just don't commish period.
pay via paypal, use credit card, file dispute at the 20 day mark if suspicious. don't deal with noobs. don't trade with noobs. request feedback ahead of time. there are lots of good people 'round here.

Wow you nuked his PayPal? Well this thread got resolved quickly and real definitive like.
It's just under investigation at this point, but I spoke with someone in management, and if the pattern is as I've indicated, it will not go well for him.AliRock110 wrote:Wow you nuked his PayPal? Well this thread got resolved quickly and real definitive like.

I'm in 2 of his commissions and yeah, this sounds about right. Hopefully that number is going to be down to 1 here soon.cdhague wrote:Yeah, I've seen him at my local Alamo. Also in a Greg Ruth commission he's been running for nearly 2 years and we're getting updates only when pressing for them.
I don't get how commissions can take this long. I've only done 2, but I timed it so that I didn't have money from members for long and using a quality printer like D&L means you get good fudge printed in a timely manner. So many people drymount it up though
