Yep, as far as Vampire comics go this is about as good as it gets IMO.Amisch wrote:Not a book, more of a graphic novel...but I'm plowing through these volumes. Great writing and amazing art.

I'm reading it too and enjoying it quite a bit, although I wouldn't say it's a wonderful piece of literature. It is long but very easy to read and pretty gripping so far.LeeKaye wrote:'I am Pilgrim'. It's OKish, I had heard of it a lot, and it was presented on my Kindle as a recommended read. It seems very long.
this aggression will not stand, man.

Just read one called Bird Box. I was pretty good, not great, but its a fun ride while it lasts. Extremely creepy and the author did a great job setting the tone and conveying the fear the characters are feeling. Great premise too, basically its a post apocalyptic world, most everyone is dead and those who aren't are isolated because of the mechanism of the apocalypse. essentially there is some creature or creatures out in the world, that when a person sees them, they go mad and kill everyone around them and then themselves. all the characters in the book have to basically live everything blind and they never know what might be right in front of them. Its not the best book I've ever read, but it is definitely original and worth checking out.

I'm a pretty big fan of Murakami, but this has by far been one of my favorites. It's long as hell though. I'm about 500 pages in.
Eh it got kinda cheesy as it went along.

I read this a few weeks ago and it had some legitimately scary scenes for me. Its definitely in the realm of body horror, specifically monster tapeworms, parasites being a pretty major phobia for me, so it might not work for everyone.
Just started The Troop and made it my pick for a Book and Beer Club I am in with about 8 other people...we will see how this goes. I am only a couple of chapters in and I really like his writing style, story seems to be moving quickly and have already read a few lines that were very creepily detailed, thanks for the recommendation!

Excellent book! When I taught Social Studies, I incorporated some of his chapters into my lessons. Sadly, most (if not all) social studies books are written by/from only an American white male point of view.jamel-d wrote:Hope to start this next week.
