^want to read that King sometime^

Finished my bazillionth Richard Laymon novel. Unfortunately, i wasn't feelin this one. As my favorite horror writer, it was disappointing, but it's ok because he makes up for it with every other book he's written.

On to another RL book...

just started Haven by Tom Deady . . . about 100 pages in, Stephen King-esque. Pretty good so far.

have Universal Harvester on the way from John Darnielle, really looking forward to reading that this month as well.

Definitely worth it since you liked Fifth Business. I stumbled upon it not knowing anything about Robertson Davies and by the time I'd finished the trilogy I couldn't figure out how the heck I'd never heard of him before. Great stuff.

"Island" was one i could not put down; a definite page-turner, that one.
"Savage" is badass. It's an interesting twist on Jack the Ripper, whom I'm fascinated with, as morbid as that is.
"The Traveling Vampire Show" was a fun one to read too. Lookin to reread that one again sometime in the near future.
And his "Beast House" series is pretty famous among other horror authors (1-"The Cellar", 2-"The Beast House", 3-"The Midnight Tour", 4-"Friday Night in Beast House"). I've read the whole series twice, and lookin to go a third time soon.

He writes some pretty brutal stuff. Unfortunately he passed away on Valentines Day back in '01.

I also recommend Jack Ketchum. His book "The Girl Next Door" is fuuuuucked up.

(Sorry for the late response, EB kept signin me out everytime i tried to post back)
